At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, December 28, 2021,
Mrs. Janet Bernard of the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation
passed away at the age of 80 years and 6 months.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. Charles Bernard
and Mrs. Elisabeth Dunphy.
Mrs. Bernard was survived by her children: Brian Letica (Veronica) of Portage Indiana, Russ Letica of MMFN,; her many grand and great grandchildren her brothers and sisters: Stewart Bernard (Margaret DiMaggio) of MMFN, Theresa Stuart of MMFN, Mary Boyd of Boston Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her beloved children : Thomas Bernard, Donna Newsom, Cheryl Long, Sally Letica, Doug Letica, And her brother Harvey Dunphy and Floyd Bernard.
To respect Mrs. Bernard's wishes, there will be no funeral services.

Woliwon/Merci/Thank you all for your kinds words and condolences. My Mother’s ashes were mixed with the ashes of her 3 fur babies and will released into the flowerbed where her two daughter already lie, this spring.

What can I say about my grandma? She was the sweetest coolest grandma a person could ask for! Lived in Vegas with her for a bit and even on the reserve. Taught me my fair share of life lessons. My favorite is when she taught me to play Indian poker for change. She folded when I had a low card to my head. I asked her why would she come if I had a low card? She told me it's that Indian feeling.
