Pelletier, Reginald (Reggie)
1926-2019
Reginald “Reggie” R. Pelletier, 93, of Lac Baker, New Brunswick, Canada, and most recently of Fort Kent, ME, died on December 18, 2019.
He was born on May 2, 1926 in St. Hilaire, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Emelie Sirois and Thomas Pelletier. He emigrated to CT in 1950 and built a roofing and siding company that continues to this day through his son Guy. His renditions of “Oh Canada” as a morning wake-up call during summer vacations were epic, as was his fondness for summer vegetable gardens and subsequent canning. He cultivated and sold Christmas trees annually. He returned to his beloved Canada in 1995. Reggie was a member of the Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years.
He raised five children with Annette Sirois Pelletier: Guy Ronald (Mariette Roy) of Newington, CT; Luc Reginald (Douglas Eagleson) of Indio, CA; Marc Roger (Mary Rickel) of Hartford, CT; Paul Gerald of San Diego, CA; and Ann Marie of Hartford, CT. He leaves four grandchildren: Todd Jonathan Pelletier (Kathleen Chapman) of Fairfield, CA; Amy Lynn Manthei (David) of Waianae, HI; Gary Lee Pelletier (Michael Young) of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and Nicole Aline Pelletier of Burlington, CT; and two great grandchildren: Adalyn Claire Pelletier and Jaxson Riley Pelletier, both of Fairfield, CA. He is survived by his sister Claire Daigle (East Hartford, CT) and brother Gerald Pelletier (Farmington, CT). He also leaves his partner Lucille Plante and countless cousins, nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by nine sisters and brothers: Luc Pelletier, Monique Pelletier, Robert Pelletier, Micheline Pelletier, Gerard Pelletier, Sr. Gilberte Pelletier, Zoel Pelletier, Agathe Pelletier Sirois, and Yvette Pelletier Blanchard.
Many thanks to Guy Decarie for his friendship and ensuring that Reggie’s last wishes were honored. His family sincerely thanks the medical and nursing staff at Forest Hill, Crosswinds Residential Care and the Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent, ME. Also, many thanks for Dr. James Harris' unwavering, compassionate care over these many years. And thanks to our extended family for their love and support throughout this time of mourning.
